Our sites and tours through the desert 🌵 land
Arizona brought many challenges and adventures. Having worked in one of the hardest environments yet, I found wading through Arizona difficult. Yet we still made time to adventure, explore and see many beautiful areas.
Beautiful Places
Here are the adventures we took in Arizona
Petrified Forest
Trees that have been in Arizona since the dinosaurs, these beautifully colored trees were amazing to see. Plus it was a great school lesson on fossils
Fossil Creek Waterfall
A beautiful trail and walk to a falls
Devils Bridge
A challenging hike with some rock climbing, with a beautiful view at the top
Watson Lake
With a frisbee golf course and lots of little trials to the lake, this was a fun spot to hang out
Oatman, Az Route 66
A fun spot to adventure with the boys. They loved feeding the burros that are always walking around the town
Navajo Bridge
A nice little stop to see one of the first bridges made to cross the canyon
North Rim Grand Canyon
We have seen the south rim and the most well known views of the canyon, but getting to see the north side gave the vastness of the canyon a different view and a fun hike down into the canyon itself.
Horseshoe Bend
Glen Canyon Dam
A dam in a beautiful spot and a bit less crowded then Hoover. This area is also a great place to find slot canyons to explore and adventure through
Sycamore Falls
A nice hike in the woods to a falls that happened to be all dried up when we adventured out
We also explored some nearby states on our adventures. Driving down from South Dakota we made a few stops in Utah. While in Arizona we explored the parts of Nevada and California that were close by.
The Great Salt Lake (Utah)
An endless lake filled with crystallized salt
Zion National Park (Utah)
Zion has many beautiful trials and sites to explore you could really spend an endless amount of time here
Vegas
Hoover Dam (Nevada)
Filled with many interesting facts and a great learning experience, the Hoover dam was definitely a place we wanted to check out
Joshua Tree (Cali)
A park filled with these interesting trees and hikes through the “forests”
Death Valley (Cali)
One day was not enough to explore this area. Filled with a wide variety of adventures and different sites, it’s a must see
Valley of Fire (Nevada)
A land full of red rock and heat
We explored and adventures while we were in Arizona and we are excited to be on the next adventure.
