Pursuing Your Dreams

Focusing on your priorities while fighting for your dreams

Pursuing your dreams or goals in life can be challenging among friends, colleagues and even family. You can often feel like your dreams have let them down or feel guilty for focusing on your priorities. Fighting for your dreams and goals doesn’t have to be a double edged sword. There are ways you can go after what’s important to you while sustaining bonds.

A nursing career can bring you lots of opportunity
Here is how I focus on my dreams while keeping bonds alive
  • I make regular time to check in with my friends, family and those closest to me: If I haven’t heard from you in awhile, I’ll be checking in 🙂 This only takes a quick text message or call. My friends know I am thinking of them even when we are far apart.
  • I let them know what’s going on: I am honest and open with those closest to me. I let them inside my head to know I am focusing on this project or that promotion. This way when I forget to call they don’t feel abandoned or left out.
  • I offer to help: When I am free or have extra time I make myself available. This may mean I am helping them focus on a priority or taking their kids off their hands for a few hours. Either way, I am there to help.
